Hebei University of Economics and Business is one of the leading academic institutions in Hebei Province. Academic schools span social sciences, science and engineering among which economics, management and law are the key ones. In 2004 national assessment, it was ranked high for the fine quality of its research and teaching.

Founded in 1953 as the Shijiazhuang School of Supply and Sales administrated by Hebei Supply and Sales Corporation, the university brought together Hebei Financial Institute, Hebei Institute of Economics and Trade and Hebei Business College. Up to now, the university has a history of 55 years.
